1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and BeeBase ("we", "us", or "our"), regarding your access to and use of the BeeBase mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using BeeBase, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not access or use BeeBase.

2. Description of Service

BeeBase is a digital beekeeping management solution designed to assist beekeepers in recording, organizing, and monitoring their apiaries, hives, queen bees, inspections, treatments, harvests, notes, and photos.

The Service provides record-keeping, workflow organization, and optional cloud data synchronization. BeeBase is designed solely as an informational tracking tool and does not constitute veterinary, agricultural, ecological, legal, or professional apicultural advice.

3. User Accounts & Security

To access certain features of BeeBase, including cloud synchronization across multiple devices, you may be required to create an account using a valid email address.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Maintain the confidentiality and security of your login credentials.
• Promptly notify us if you discover or suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
• Accept full responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction, or have received parental/guardian consent, to create an account and use the Service.

4. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases

BeeBase may offer optional auto-renewing premium subscription plans that provide access to enhanced features, unlimited records, or advanced synchronization capabilities.

Subscription Terms

• Monthly Subscription: Billed on a recurring monthly basis.
• Annual Subscription: Billed on a recurring annual basis.

Billing and Payment

Payment will be charged to your platform app store account (such as your Apple ID) upon confirmation of purchase. Subscription prices are clearly displayed within the application prior to confirmation. Prices may vary by country or currency based on exchange rates and local taxes.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renewal is disabled or canceled at least 24 hours prior to the end of the current billing period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-applicable renewal rate.

Managing and Canceling Subscriptions

You may manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device account settings (for iOS devices: go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). If you cancel, your subscription benefits will remain active until the end of the current paid billing cycle.

Free Trials & Refunds

If a free trial period is offered, any unused portion of the trial will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable. All billing and refund requests are processed directly by the respective app store provider (e.g., Apple) in accordance with their refund policies.

5. User Content & Ownership

You retain full ownership and intellectual property rights in any data, text, records, inspection notes, photos, or other materials you submit, store, or upload to BeeBase ("User Content").

By uploading User Content to BeeBase, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, reproduce, and display your User Content solely to operate, maintain, back up, and provide the Service to you.

You represent and warrant that you own or possess all necessary rights to submit your User Content, and that your User Content does not infringe upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.

6. Acceptable Use Policy

When using BeeBase, you agree not to:

• Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the application.
• Circumvent, bypass, or disable any security features, technical restrictions, or licensing mechanisms.
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
• Upload or transmit any malicious software, viruses, worms, or disruptive code.
• Interfere with, damage, or overburden the infrastructure or servers supporting BeeBase.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any user accounts, computer systems, or networks connected to the Service.

7. Device Permissions & Hardware Access

To enable certain interactive features, BeeBase may request access to device hardware and services:

• Location Services: Used optionally to identify and record the geographical coordinates of your apiaries.
• Camera & Photo Library: Used to capture and attach photographs to apiaries, hives, or inspection logs.

You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time through your device operating system settings. Revoking permissions may limit certain corresponding features in the app.

8. Offline Functionality & Data Synchronization

BeeBase offers offline functionality, caching your records locally on your device so that you can record inspections in remote apiary locations without an active internet connection.

Local data will synchronize with cloud servers once an internet connection is established. While we strive to maintain robust synchronization protocols, you acknowledge that unsynchronized local data may be lost if you uninstall the application, delete application data, or experience hardware failure before synchronization completes.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights, title, and interest in and to BeeBase—including the software, design, user interface, brand name, logos, icons, graphics, text, and underlying technology—are and remain the exclusive property of BeeBase and its licensors.

Except for the limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license granted to you to use the app for personal or internal business beekeeping purposes in accordance with these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

10. Disclaimers & No Professional Advice

Beekeeping inherently involves practical, biological, and environmental factors, including venomous stings, allergic reactions, disease management, weather risks, and local biosecurity compliance.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BeeBase is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall BeeBase, its developers, operators, affiliates, or licensors be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, bees, colonies, hives, equipment, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your access to, use of, or inability to use BeeBase.

In no event shall our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service exceed the amount paid by you, if any, to BeeBase for access to the Service during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to liability.

12. Termination & Account Cancellation

You may terminate your agreement with BeeBase at any time by ceasing all use of the Service and deleting your account through the application settings.

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, without prior notice or liability, if you breach any provision of these Terms or engage in activities that could harm the integrity, security, or legal standing of BeeBase or its users.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. When updates occur, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of BeeBase following the posting of revised Terms indicates your acceptance and agreement to the modifications. If you do not agree with the modified Terms, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the Service.

14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the applicable jurisdiction, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

BeeBase allows you to create and manage beekeeping records, which may include:

Location Information

BeeBase may request access to your device's location when you choose to use location-based features, such as determining the location of an apiary.

BeeBase does not continuously track your location and does not use your location for advertising.

Photos and Camera

BeeBase may request access to your device's camera and photo library when you choose to add photos to your apiaries, hives, or other records.

Photos are used only for functionality initiated by you within the application.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide and operate BeeBase
• Authenticate users and maintain sessions
• Store and synchronize your beekeeping records
• Display your apiaries, hives, inspections, and photos
• Provide location-based features when requested
• Synchronize data between your devices and our servers

3. Data Storage and Synchronization

BeeBase supports offline functionality. Some application data may be temporarily stored locally on your device so that you can continue using supported features without an internet connection.

When an internet connection becomes available, locally stored data may be synchronized with BeeBase servers.

Data synchronization helps keep your records available across supported sessions and devices.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Your information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate BeeBase, such as infrastructure, hosting, storage, authentication, or other technical service providers.

When you delete your account, your associated data will be deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, subject to legal or operational requirements.

7. Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your BeeBase account and associated data through the account deletion functionality available in the application.

Account deletion may permanently remove your account and associated beekeeping data.

BeeBase may offer optional premium subscriptions to provide access to additional features and capabilities.

Subscription Options

Subscriptions are offered with flexible recurring billing options:

Billing and Renewal

Payment is handled through your platform app store account (such as the Apple App Store) upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off or canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

BeeBase does not collect, receive, or store your payment card details. All billing and transaction processing is managed securely by the respective app store.

Managing Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device account settings. If you cancel, your subscription will remain active until the end of the current paid period.

9. Children's Privacy

BeeBase is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to provide consent for processing of personal information.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us without appropriate consent, please contact us.

10. Third-Party Services

BeeBase may use third-party services required for application infrastructure, authentication, data storage, analytics, crash reporting, or other technical functionality.

These services may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

Third-party services used by the application are selected and configured with the goal of protecting user information and providing the required application functionality.
